Travel Tuesday: Central Park

I'll feature NYC for the month of June. If you look at the map, it is one of the smallest states but it has a lot to offer and so many beautiful things around it. One Sunday afternoon, we decided to brave the traffic and spent it in one of the most beautiful parks around the world - Central Park. ☀ Another tick on my to-go list.
The park is home to most of the romantic Hollywood movies. I cannot count the number of movies or tv shows shot in this location, each with different take on how to showcase the beauty of this park.

CHAIR. my fave couple in the hit show "Gossip Girl"

who would ever forget this cute boy in "August Rush"

♫"How does she know you love her?" ♫ Remember this scene from the disney movie "Enchanted"?

Sarah Jessica Parker shoots a scene of Sex and the City in Central Park.
The whole place is magical and it's picturesque. I grew up with Rizal Park (in my hometown) as my playground so imagine how excited and happy i was when i finally got the chance to roam around the park. ☻☻☻

It is so refeshing to see some greens within the city. It gives a good balance to the skyscrapers just across the park. A thumbs up for Mother Nature.

Greens and Skyscrapers.

Trisikad. If you're too lazy to walk then you have the option to rent this but this little paradise begs you to explore on foot.

This bridge always gets featured in the movies and it has earned it's popularity among tourists so that makes us popular too (in our dreams). hahaha...

Katherine Heigl's movie "27 Dresses" was shot here. Isn't it lovely?

If "row, row, row your boat" is your peg for your date, then go and row!

kanya-kanyang hilig :  photography class, biking, people watching, playing the accordion or the guitar. it's a free country anyway (or a free park i guess.haha) ☼ ☁

artists on the loose.

art for sale.

fashion shoot. unggoy-unggoyan ang peg. hahaha...

a wedding pictorial. kebs sa passersby. Pose lang ng pose.

aaaaaw... A proposal this grand deserves a big YES. would you?

Sun-worshippers. While Pinoys are so obsessed with whitening products and armed with an umbrella, the whites will do anything just to get a nice tan.

you know you love me NY as much as i do.
xoxo

Travel Tuesday : i ♥ NY

Join me while i sing a line of jay-z's hit song "empire state of mind". Ready? Waiiiit! I think i saw my sister with a big STOP sign on her forehead. Hahaha. Well, i can sing but i couldn't really carry a tune. :) so, lemme just share my NY experience to you. But first lemme shout "New York, New York!".

and because NY is colder than NJ, a winter outfit is a must.
            • winter jacket
            • undershirt
            • boots
            • a trusty leggings
            • uber excited self

NY has always been on top of my list for my to-go-places. The movies and some tv shows may have featured it a gazillion times but i never get bored of this city and at the back of my mind,i would always say "one day". The day has finally come. NJ and NY are like sisters, it's kinda connected to each other. It's only a 20-minute drive from NJ which makes labangon to lahug(both in Cebu) farther by comparison.hahaha... The empire state building stands tall and is really a sight to behold from afar, it always feels like it's waving at me saying "come to NY!".  It's surreal when i finally set foot in the Big Apple. If what you saw on the big screen made you fall in love with NYC, you will really fall head-over-heels when you come and see it by yourself. I haven't seen all of NY yet but i promised myself i will come back for more.

the real yellow taxi.

we took the  hop-on,hop-off tour bus. the ticket we bought was for the 48-hr trip. a good way to see the city.

sucha beautiful day to explore the city.

can you see the empire state building? it stands out among the rest.

chuck bass' empire

central park. we didn't go inside the park that day.

lovely architecture all over the city .

columbia university

skyscrapers in all forms

  Trump hotel.  Guggenheim Museum.Julliard School.

i love how they were able to preserve the old buildings.

Times Square is a tourist's must-see. Billboards everwhere and each billboard costs $50,000 per day.  Imagine how much the owner earns each day.

The Delta Experience

For seven years, i've always been on the other side of the phone as a customer service rep for a US-based travel agency. I was really excited for the long trip because it's my first time even if  I had a 25-hr trip with connections in Tokyo and Atlanta. Reggie doesn't want me to choose boeing 747 for the longer leg of my flight, He suggested i should fly with boeing 777 from Tokyo to Atlanta which is a 12hr flight. I've booked a thousand trips for my customers but i never really cared about the difference between a boeing 747 and boeing 777. I never understood why passengers would freak out if they end up getting a 747. The only difference between the two is the personal tv. The long trip would go from bad to worse if there's no entertainment on board. I had my phone and ipad ready with games installed but i ended up just watching movies on my personal tv. So,go na sa 777! :)

the personal tv which made the long trip shorter.

DL is generous with the food they serve on board.
